What Networker Need to Follow

Networking has been around for just about as long as business, in various shapes and forms.  It can be an extremely effective, low-cost marketing strategy – when done correctly.  Unfortunately, many people lose out simply because they don’t quite know the game.  Don’t miss a great opportunity to boost your business!  For networking success, always follow these simple and steadfast rules of play:
  1. Be genuine & authentic.  People like to do business with people they like, and nobody likes a pretender.  Savvy networkers can spot a false façade a mile away, and they instinctually steer clear.  No matter how great you are, no matter how fantastic your product is, it won’t matter one bit if others feel you may have something to hide.  Always stay true to your personality, represent your business honestly, and build genuine relationships with your fellow networkers.  Authenticity will set you apart and leave a positive impression, which will encourage people to do business with you… instead of your competition.
  2. Listen more than you talk. Have you ever met someone new – at a party, in the grocery store, standing in line for the movies – and they did nothing but talk nonstop about themselves?  Did it make you want to run in the other direction?  When networking, your mission should not be to prove how cool you and your business are.  It should be to find out as much as possible about the person to whom you are speaking, finding a way to make a connection so a relationship can be built.  The next time you meet up, whether it’s at another networking function or in person one-on-one, you should at least have some talking points so you can pick the conversation back up and continue building the relationship.  Good networking relationships lead to trust, and trust leads to business.
  3. Bring only five business cards to any function.  There are many experts who will disagree with this way of thinking.  However, if you have ever attended a typical networking event and walked away with a stack of cards, you’ll recognize some truth in what I’m saying here.  Thinking of that stack of cards, how many of the people behind the cards can you actually remember?  How many did you follow up with? How many did you actually do business with?  For most people, that number is pretty low.  Remember – networking is about building relationships.  Reserve your cards for those people with whom you truly connected and plan on following up with.  It’s always more important to make solid connections with a few, than meaningless connections with many.
  4. Don’t be that guy. You know the one.  He goes around to every person in the room, intrusively of course, and shoves his business card in your hand.  He interrupts your current conversation to tell you who he is and why you need to know him.  And then, before you even have a chance to respond, off he goes to the next unsuspecting victim.  Sound familiar?  Don’t be that guy.
  5. Get on a first-name basis with the event organizer.  I cannot stress this enough: the most important person in the room is the one who brought you all together.  Seek out the organizer (respectfully), strike up a conversation, and make the connection.  A good leader will point you in the direction of some key people he or she feels you should know, and a really good leader will make the introductions personally.  Once he or she knows who you are, what you do, and who you are interested in connecting with, you may even get some great referrals and post-event introductions.  Want to know the best way to cement the relationship?  Reciprocate. Encourage people you know to attend the leader’s events, introduce him or her to potential clients and alliances, and do whatever you can to help support his or her efforts.  A good rule to follow with any networking connection.
The bottom line is simple: Networking is a great tool, and can make a huge impact on your business.  It’s up to you whether that impact is a positive one.

Thinking of buying an iPad, but the $829 price tag for the top model strikes you as a touch too plebeian? UK-based luxury gadget designer Stuart Hughes has come to the rescue with a solid gold, diamond-encrusted version of Apple’s “magical” and “revolutionary” tablet.
The price is £129,995, or approximately $189,125, for a 3G iPad with 53 flawless diamonds on the Apple logo and a casing of solid 22ct gold. Even if you’re willing to dish out this much money for a tablet, keep its weight in mind — the device is 2.1kg, or approximately 4.4 pounds, due to all of that gold.

Mark Zuckerberg Dipilih sebagai 'Person of The Year 2010' oleh Majalah Times

Pengasas dan Ketua Eksekutif CEO Laman Sosial Facebook Mark Zuckerberg telah dipilih sebagai 'Person of the year 2010" oleh majalah Times. Facebook menjadi laman sosial paling popular dan mempunyai seramai 500 juta orang pengguna.
Zuckerberg dilahirkan pada tahun 1984 dan  memulakan laman sosial pada waktu itu dikenali sebagai thefacebook di asrama sewaktu belajar di Universiti Harvard pada tahun 2004.

This Virtual App is Child's Play : New Jersey eight-year-old Joey Hudicka is selling an iPhone app.

This time i like to share about a story of eight year old kid in USA. He is selling ihpone apps.. i wonder how are we able to culcate our kids to have that kind of speciality.!!

Eight-year-old Joey Hudicka's parents always knew he had a bit of the entrepreneur in him. He once tried to sell them seashells on a family vacation. But they never would have guessed he would create a going software venture before he reached the third grade.
With some encouragement (OK, and several thousand dollars) from his parents, Joey created an iPhone game he named Puckz, a combination of hockey and checkers. He hired a firm in India to develop the software and oversaw every detail of the game's design from his Flemington, New Jersey, bedroom.
Kids like Joey may soon be making their marks all over the App Store, says Larry Rosen, author of Rewired: Understanding the iGeneration and the Way They Learn. "This is the first generation that has grown up with ubiquitous anytime, anywhere technology," he says. "Anything they can think of should be doable."
Puckz hasn't exactly been a bestseller since it debuted in March. "At first, I didn't even know it launched," says Joey. "I searched hockey games, and it was all the way at the bottom, which stunk." But the game has started to catch on via Facebook, selling about 800 downloads at 99 cents a pop. His second app, Goalz, a soccer version of the game, has sold about 100 downloads. Says Joseph Hudicka Sr., Joey's father: "This is the modern-day lemonade stand."

Top 5 Asia's Best Young Entrepenuer

This time i would like to bring to you the list of the Best Young Entrepenuer's of Asia 2009. There are 25 names all of them but i only list down the  5 of them for our entry this time. The list is not in the ranking order  but i just picked from the top 25 from the voted list in the business week magazine. 
The reason why i show you the entrepenuer list is because we can emulate of what they have done and take their experiences as our guide to entrepenuership. The candidate from the  Asian Best Young Entrepenuers are age from 19 to 33 years old.

  1. Roihatul Jannah, age 30., Indonesia, owner of Helmiat Bonceng Bocah
Roihatul came up with the product for the children who ride as an extra passenger on a motorbike. She started the ideas when she had the difficulty to ride with her kid. So she produces a Helmiat Bonceng Bocah (HBB) specially for a child safety, comfort and style.The company was founded in 2007.




2.Lim Fahima Jachja, age 31, Indonesia,Virus Communication.
Fahima and her husband Adhitia Sofyan set up Virus Communication, an online consulting firm in 2006 especially on online marketing strategy.Backed from their previous experience in commercial advertisement, they venture into online business where they see potential and now they have engaged with blue chips company including HP, Toyota,XL, SMART, Tupperware and etc.

3. Rex Ng, Terry Cheng and Chris Lee, 34,29 and 28 respectively,Hong Kong, is the co founder of 6waves
The company is the leading international publisher and developer of  the gaming application for Facebook. It start up in early 2008, since then the games that they build have brings about 50 millions active players and the number is increasing aggresively. Some of their most popular games are Happy Harvest, MyFishbow, Mall World and Resortworld.

4.Aung Kwa Moe,33, Thailand,SinaptIQ
At first Aung Kwa Moe wanted to become a doctor but his national examination result did not score high. So he become a businessman and now lives in Bangkok. He run an company which does an online payment business SinaptIQ.The company works  with Thailands independent payment processor like PaySBuy.com, commercial airline company Nok Air and other smaller businesses. He credits his success to his determination and fighting spirits that has transformed the obstacles into opportunities.

5. Eriko Yamaguchi,28, Japan,Motherhouse Co.
 Motherhouse is a fashion brand specialized in handbags produced in developing countries. The company produce the best products possible by maximizing the potentials of the people and materials in developing countries. Yamaguchi, the Chief designer and founder of Motherhouse Co. has brilliant idea when she studied in Dhaka Bangladesh. During her internship,she came across the jute fibre in an exhibition and later wanted to make bags from it. Without any formaltraining in designing she did all from scratch and go to find factory who can work with him. Finally she found a small factory that willing to do business with her. 
Now motherhouse co. which was founded in 2006 has six stores in Tokyo Osaka and Fukuoka and also sells at some major department stores. Sales have gone up to more than $1.5 million from $30,000 a year ago.

COCONUT WATER: Is coconut water just another trend in the healthy beverage market?

First came vitamin-enhanced water, then açai juice. Is coconut water the next big health-drink fad? Michael Kirban and Ira Liran sure hope so. The pair, friends from college, got the idea to sell coconut water after they learned about the drink from two young Brazilian women they met at a bar in New York City in 2003. (Liran eventually married one of them.) Today, Kirban and Liran's company, Vita Coco, controls nearly 70 percent of the $30 million -- and growing -- U.S. market for coconut water.
Not long ago, coconut water was all but unheard of in the U.S. Now, Vita Coco has some stiff competition. Zico, a Hermosa Beach, California, company launched in 2004, counts Coca-Cola as a backer. And Pepsi recently acquired Brazilian coconut-water maker Amacoco.
One retailer Kirban and Liran approached early on declared Vita Coco tasted like "sock water." But today, 12,000 retail locations, including many Whole Foods and Safeway outlets, sell the electrolyte-rich drink, which is promoted as a sort of natural Gatorade. Vita Coco's revenue climbed from $8 million in 2008 to more than $20 million in 2009. "People really get hooked on this stuff," says Kirban.

I live in Kuching. I go to work by a car. My office is about 7 kilometres from home. My daily expenses is as follow

1. Fuel: To/Fro : RM 50 / 6 days = RM8.30
2. Breakfast : A cup of coffee =RM1.00 + RM1.00 of curry puff etc. = RM2.00 (minimum)
3. Lunch = average of a plate of rice and drinks = RM6.00
4. Parking fee: RM33/30 day = RM1.10
 Total = RM17.40
Option : 
Include Toll Fee : RM1.50
Dinner : RM5.00
Total : RM23.50
Monthly expenses would be RM 17.40 x 20 days of working =RM 348.00

Entrepreneurship: 50 Brilliant Ideas You Can Execute Upon Right Now


When most people think of entrepreneurship, they think of dot com startups, well funded franchises and other such complex and expensive sounding ventures. The truth is, however, you don’t have to have a lot of money, or a special skill, to start a business. Just to prove the point, we’ve come up with fifty simple, easy to execute ideas that you can use today, with very little investment, to start your road to entrepreneurship.

So, without further ado, here are the fifty simplest entrepreneurship ideas we can come up with:

  1. Start a window washing business. A bucket, some detergent, and a long handled squeegee and you’re in business. Market your service to homeowners and businesses – after all – everyone hates doing windows!
  2. Do you have a computer and a printer? Put together a weekly or monthly newsletter for your area, and sell advertising space in it to local businesses.
  3. Garden service businesses always work well, and are cheap to start if you already have a lawnmower and other tools.

BURGER GRILL

Last nite, i've got the chance to try the latest recipe in town, THE BURGER GRILL.  For the first time i taste the burger and agreed that this recipe is so much better than the one sold at Franchise Fast Food. Comparing the price, quality and taste, everyone would agree with me.
I have heard about this menu and received  SMS from friends to promote the business.  
Having sold at few outlet, i came to one of outlet at the road site of Jalan Astana (RPR). The service is outstanding in which you need not to worry of the waiting time for the order to complete and it is still hot and tasty.
Based on the information from the seller, the minced meat of the menu are self home made processed.  
Definitely the branding of this recipe have recieved a good response eventhough it is just a burger but only the way it is  grilled compare to the ordinary steel plate way of cooking.
The entrepenuership skill has brought this common menu to another level and branding makes the menu receive good response from the people. It has also 'allow' the seller to put higher price compare to the ordinary one. For a piece of burger you can get as low as RM4.50 and RM6.50 for Jumbo size.
Get some bite and comment.. you would not regret.
